The day was February 12, 2006, almost no one had yet to venture out that early afternoon around 2 p.m. The blizzard had yet to stop. Eighteen inches of soft puffy snow were to be recorded as falling that day in the Yardley area. The snow was accumulating in the trees and adding a soft white blanket to Yardley's historic Library. This Library is situated between Afton Avenue and Lake Afton. The image was captured looking across the lake from North Main Street using a Nikon DX2 high resolution digital camera and a high quality Nikkor 150mm lens.

We then managed to reach the upper end of the Washington Crossing Park in Pennsylvania that same afternoon of "blizzard day" in Yardley. The full-time four wheel drive SUV performed flawlessly in the deep snow of unplowed roads. We enjoyed a very safe journey passing through Washington Crossing, PA and on into Upper Makefield Township to reach the Upper Park. This timber bridge crosses over the Delaware Canal and is situated just behind the historic Thomson-Neeley House. The image was captured using my faithful Nikon DX2, but this time a Nikkor 24 - 85mm zoom lens framed the image.

Seemed like a nice afternoon to drive back down and drop in on friends living along the high banks of the Delaware Canal in the Westover Section, which is just south of Yardley Borough. The snow fall was just starting to let up as the SUV took us down from the Upper Park, following the River Road down through Yardley and then up Black Rock Road. Upon reaching the Canal, a ski trail along the tow path caught our attention. This image, looking north, seems to be almost black and white except for soft orange tints in the tree line and a very pail green cast to the snow covered canal, giving away the secret that the picture was actually captured in color using the high resolution Nikon DX2 digital camera. The 24 - 85 Nikkor zoom lens framed the image.
